Little Red Corvette

The Chevrolet Corvette has always been one of my favorite automobiles. Not completely thrilled with anything from the mid 70's until the early part of this century but now they seem to be back on track with styling and performance.
This 1960 model by todays standards seems a little slow but for it's time was considered pretty fast.
The base model's time from 0 to 60 was a sluggish 8.3 seconds. Fast for it's day and age but nowhere near the times the modern Vette. But the styling of todays cars don't come anywhere near the curves and chrome of the cards from earlier generations.
The chrome grille and bumpers of this car really make it stand out as almost an art-deco look.
!960 introduced an aluminum radiator to the Corvette but only in the upgraded 270 and 290 horsepower editions. Also introduced in 1960 was green color to the Corvette line, known as cascade green.
The base price on this car was $3, 872.00 and this was actually a reduction of three dollars from the year before.
Pricing for some of the optional equipment is listed below:
AM Radio $137.75
Auxillary Hard Top $236.75
Electric Power Windows $59.20
315 HP Fuel Injected Engine 484.20
The one I find most interesting is the option for a heater. I just can't imagine that not being part of the standard package.
