Description:

A long exposure of the beach at Camp Merryelande on St. George Island, in southern Md., USA. Beach erosion can be a serious issue. There are all sorts of creative, and often in vain, measures for combatting it. Here, a series of jetties have been build to help slow down the tidal water from raking the shore line. Whether it helps slow down the erosion or not is yet to be seen. Nonetheless, it does provide good composition for a photographer.
