Description
The Arabic calligraphy in this piece is an invocation to prayer from the Baha’i writings. It translates roughly to: “In the name of God the All Knowing, the Undeviating, the Ancient, the Most Glorious.” It was originally fashioned by Mishkin Qalam (1826-1912), a master Persian Baha’i calligrapher. The original of this particular calligraphy that he designed hangs in the Baha’i World Center in Haifa, Israel. In this piece, I have taken the calligraphy and superimposed it over an image of the Lotus Temple, a major Baha’i temple located in New Delhi, India.
