Description
Located on Poplar Level Road, George Rodgers Clark Park is a favorite place where families gather for summer picnics but in winter it is a special delight for photographers and artists. The Park and nearby Beargrass Creek add country charm to the urban neighborhood.
A cache of arrowheads found In the vicinity identify the area as one respected in years previous by the Indians who hunted Kentuckys woods and valleys.
Farther on out Poplar Level Road, the name, Indian Trail was given to a highway to mark where hunters passed through on journeys east and west.
I often wonder about the hunting party that left a washtub full of arrowheads along Beargrass Creek. I like to think their spirits watch over those who now call the area home.
