This is a true "DIAMOND in the rough", as the sweet dog is called Diamond, and my first meeting with this very special friend!
German Shepherds, Dobermans, Rottweilers, and Pitbulls, have had their time in court!,.
Media likes extravagance! Yes, there have been more incidences of damage by Pitbulls, Rottweilers, German Shepherds, or Dobermans.
Part has to do with media, as who in the heck would want to admit they were attacked and put down by a killer poodle or chihuahua! LOL
This wonderful rescued Diamond, met me at the door and welcomed me, not with opened "Mouth", but with open paws.
I was a total stranger entering into a friend's house, and I was accepted as a member of the family from my friends and their darling, Diamond, rescued hours before her total demise by euthanasia.
I gestured for Diamond to Sit. And. the fun began! That lovely animal, sat and would still be sitting there today, if I hadn't, on purpose, tapped my chest twice, not once, not thrice, but twice, and she very gently came up on my legs, and so gingerly took a shelled peanut from my mouth, and gave me a kiss.
Sure wish I could have taught this trick to my girlfriends when I was much younger! LOL
We pay millions of dollars in taxpayers' money to accommodate prisoners with large screen tv access, plenty of sex, great food, and a life offered to them which is better than the companion pets on "death row"!
Why are we so quick to put down an animal that does something that is more natural to them than a human being?
Thanks much to Dave and Maureen for their rescue of this lovely animal, as it is very deserving of life at its fullest for a loving and devoted pet.
I appreciate people who know what good friends our domestic animals can be, if not trained to do what they were not meant to do in the first place.
Respectfully submitted in hopes of giving them another look at retention and training, or REHAB, rather than immediate death!
