Description:

This black and white painting features a fantastical tree and a couple of "Love Birds." The romantic nature of the piece is hardened by the use of black and white contrast, which is in turn softened by the birds' red hearts. The tree itself features an upside down black heart, which heightens its fantastical nature. Its branches may be uncurling in joy or shriveling up in menace. This simple depiction of a fairytale moment then shows that love's appeal lies in the heart of the beholder.. whether that heart is red or black.
