Description
"Low Tide at Sunrise"
by Debra and Dave Vanderlaan
... The beach at sunrise
is the best spot to view
the changing colors and shapes
of the clouds in the sky
on Jekyll Island
on coastal Georgia...
These old oak trees
have fallen to the surf's grasp
years before and lie
like long-legged monsters
on Driftwood Beach...
This is low tide,
when the waves
have pulled back
into the sea,
leaving behind a vast
and wide beach
of wet sand,
wrinkled
with the retreating waves.
The sun has just crested
the horizon on the east coast,
shimmering golden
on the placid sea
and ripples of waves.
Jekyll Island is a very
special place for happy
vacationers, families,
and romantic weekends
for couples. Enjoy
the coast of south Georgia!
