Machinist - The Crowded Workshop
Photograph - Hdr Photography
The two most used tools in a machinists shop are the lathe and the hacksaw. The hacksaw is powered by belts, though not today since it's clearly out of alignment. The lathe is designed to spin metal to allow you to create anything round. The old time shop aren't as noisy as the current ones, though there was a lot more flapping of belts and squeaking. The downside was the breathing conditions, OSHA didn't really exist then.
