Thank you, Alexandra! To me she represents someone born with all the possible benefits of "society" denied her, and rather than be bothered by it, she relishes the freedom it brings her!

I am so drawn to this painting. It fascinates me and appeals to me. The colors for one thing.... lots of diagonal lines for another, but put it all together and I love it, as do lots of other people judging by the number of comments. Instant v/f

Thank you SO very much, Lenore! Its one I really put heart and soul into.

Thank you! I really love texture! Even when I try for smooth, I end up with a tactile sensation! It also gives me the opportunity to work with unusual materials to apply and to remove paint, which keeps it always new and fresh.

Your comment " she wouldn't wait" was adorable. It is funny how the paintings have their own personalities even before they are in the full glory onto the canvas. Still chuckling , I know what your saying.

Thank you, Priya! I love deep rich textures. For me, to see is not just about vision, but about sensing the touch, the feel of a thing. Maybe because much of my life has been lived around cactus? Good survival skill! But I try to be honest about the feel of a thing as I look at it.

Such a pleasing color palette, and I really enjoy being able to see your brushwork...parts of the painting have an almost sculptural quality to them.

Thank you, Sean! I was waiting for someone to notice that. Yes, while the lower part of the church is "grounded," it becomes less so as it rises up to the flat blue sky. A bit of inspiration from the movie "The Truman Show (Jim Carey)." I am now justifiably delighted!!! Thank you!!!!!

Blasted enter key! I had more to say! It has a kind of surreal feel to it, like certain things are real, and others are just fictional, like day dreaming. V!

Interesting how there is so much detail in everything, but the sky and the white building are just a flat color.

Thank you, Ann! It was one of those wonderful "dream about it one night" pieces that just seemed to paint and unfold on its own! I feel blessed to have been holding the brush! Sounds wacky, but it was so strongly impressed on me in the dream that it just ... happened!

Peri, Fantastic painting and a wonderful story to go with it that had me captivated. I kept reading the story and scrolling back up to the painting to see what you were saying was in the painting. Your painting and story was that powerful. Great detail and a great use of various colors. Fantastic piece of art. VOTED

Thank you SOOOOO much, John! That is exactly what I was hoping to achieve! I love art that makes me work at it!

A lot of work and detail. love the colors and texture. It's a winner ! V/F
Peri Craig replied:
Thank you, Sherry! It actually WAS an awful lot of work! I woke up one morning and had this image of a woman in my mind. I tried to get the background done first, but she wouldn't wait, so SHE was the first thing painted, with all the rest filled in! NOT a method I recommend! LoL!
