Main Building Of Moscow State University At Winter Evening - Featured 3
Main Building Of Moscow State University At Winter Evening. Moscow State University is the oldest and largest university in Russia. It was founded in 1755 by Mikhail Lomonosov - the russian scholar of that time. The university was named after him in 1940. They say that the main building of the university is the tallest educational building in the world. More than 50000 students are simultaneously toiling their way to diploma in the university. Unfortunatelly, the modern state of affairs in Russia is not excessively sympathetic to the tender blossoms of science, so the winds of change blowing here in Russia disseminated best brains all over the world; lack of financial manure permitted to get rather modest scientific results, so the university is not in the list of the top 100 universities of the world and maybe not in the list of top 200, despite the fact that the general level of education is starry high and fundamental knowledge and schools of thought are in abundance. Here you see the main building in winter. You can see here illuminated clock and thermometer on those side towers of the building. The direction of view is from South-West to North-East. I stand in the campus bedween departments of chemistry to the left and department of physics to the right.
