( Copyright Mel Steinhauer all rights reserved ) Kentucky is famous for many more things than just fine thoroughbred horses and fried chicken. For over 200 years, Kentucky's distilleries have been producing the world's finest bourbons. In the region just west of lexington along The Bourbon Trail, you will find the makers of Jim Beam, wild Turkey, Maker's Mark, Woodford Reserve, Four Roses and Heaven Hill. Warehouses with thousands of oak barrels full of aging bourbon were always in danger of a fire impossible to extinguish. So my hat is off to the brave men who once worked at the old ... Maker's Mark Firehouse.
