Beautiful image and interesting description. I do however feel very sorry for the dog but I guess "its a dog's life" after all. I hope the medicinal use of the Mandrake makes it worth it. Perhaps if you tied a couple mandrake roots to one dog it would save dogs.

Conor Murphy replied:

Thank you Michael for these kind words and also for the feature on your great group.

Conor, so it is a folklore! Thanks for telling me about the description, no I did not read it until today. So, this is your version of a mandrake plant, very original and cool. I really like your take on the mandrake.

Los Angeles, CA - United States

Gosh Conor, I really laughed at Allen n Lehman's comment about smoking this plant! LOL!! I honestly thought that the mandrake plant was something the author of Harry Potter made up. Really cool painting, Conor, the plant looks like a woman who's legs are crossed. The painting has a sensuous feel to it.

Athens, GA - United States

This is very creative and unique Conor. It combines the yin (spiritual side and in your tale the breaking free), and yang (rooted to the earth) beautifully.

Chicago, IL - United States

Such a lovely painting with a wonderful tale to go along with it.
