Description
Manhattan Bridge from Brooklyn Bridge Park,
I did not know that the Manhattan Bridge first opened to traffic back on December 31, 1909. Wow, this is truly a historical landmark!
The Manhattan Bridge is actually what we call a suspension bridge. This suspension bridge crosses the East River in New York City. It connects Lower Manhattan at Canal Street with Downtown Brooklyn at Flatbush Avenue Extension. From the Manhattan Bridge you can also see the beautiful Brooklyn Bridge. And when in the right spot, you can see both bridges at the same time. Absolutely beautiful scenes!!
This was our first visit to Brooklyn Bridge Park in New York City. On our way hone from Connecticut to Maryland, we stopped for an hour or so to walk around, take some photos, and just enjoy exploring a part of New York we never explored. We had a good time! Emmy Vickers,
