Description
Marsh harrier (Circus aeruginosus) hunting. Marsh harriers are birds of prey that breed in parts of Europe, western Asia and northwest Africa. They are rare in the British Isles. They catch their prey by hovering above it and then quickly diving down from above. They inhabit wetland areas preferring to roost in reedbeds and feeding on small mammals, birds, insects, reptiles, amphibians and fish. Photographed in Kent, England, UK, in March.
