Marsh View At Pawleys Island
Painting - Oil/canvas
Marsh View at Pawleys Island is an impasto oil painting on canvas and is unframed. This painting is one of a series of paintings I did of the beautiful Pawleys Island beach resort in South Carolina. This painting is from a photo I took at dusk of the marsh looking down through the gazebo landings that occur at various points. I especially liked the cloud formations that happened at this particular evening moment. The light was soft enough to allow the colors to infiltrate the clouds but not greatly darken them. The light caused the wooden structures to take on a orange glow. The paint on this painting was applied in a series of layers and the surface is a complicated system of small and large elevated brushstrokes. This is a low-level impasto painting and is colorful and peaceful. The painting is in un-framed and is located in Radford, VA.
My paintings have been seen throughout the United States in national, international, and group shows. I have won numerous awards, including awards from Dorothy Gillespie, May Stevens, Frank Webb, and Daniel Greene.
My best-selling print, "Reaching Out", was selected from over three million works of art on Fine Art America to be on the set of The Mindy Project and I appeared with my artwork on The Hour of Joy on FoxTV out of Roanoke on March 10th 2013. I live to paint and it is important to me to find homes for all of my creations. I have originals and prints in twenty-one states, Canada, Germany, and Australia. I want to cover the world with my art.
