I am deeply touched by your moving memorial painting, Anneke. I was living in Den Haag (The Hague), Netherlands at the time and was greatly and was moved by people’s grief, sympathy, and sensible sensitivity. It’s the same with their later dismay and anger at the US invasion of the “Mid East.” I did a series of abstract paintings in 2001 soon after 9/11, “WHEN WORDS FAIL," my first abstracts and my shift almost totally to abstracts. I followed it with a long series of protest and mourning over the murderous acts in so many parts of the world and of the brutal, inhuman destruction of people, animals, and the habitats of us all, “PLANET GENOCIDES.” Both series are included on WEBSHOTS, http://community.webshots.com/user/brucecombs

Thank you, Anneke, for putting 'it' so artfully. This painting is a stunning tribute to those who died and to those who have to live with the lasting effects of that horrible day.

Wow Anneke! Powerful and moving work. Thanks so much for your tribute to the victims of this cowardly attack and thank you for honoring our country by it.

Toronto, ON

A very powerful image and tribute to those who died on September 11. A wonderful overall composition.

Portage La Prairie, MB

Stunning sensitivity to the horror of living hell, Anneke. Was it intentional on your part to create the letter 'H' with the components of your composition?

Swansea, Wa

Hello Anneke! How are you? This is a magnificent and fitting tribute to all those who tragically lost their lives in this senseless atrocity! Powerful work!
