Description
I have always been a fan of rock and roll, I wanted to be in a band since I was young. Since I never had the patience to properly learn how to play guitar, now I enjoy drawing and painting Rock Stars that I admire.
I have started to produce art with a new objective. I decided to start this art with the idea to finish the art in one night regardless to how I felt about the quality. I have done this before, mainly at my job as a sign painter, when the boss would tell me not to spend much time when painting a pictorial scene. I found that when I do this I seem to be happier with the results.
I would like to believe that I work better under pressure, but I think that like most artists I tend to overwork my art. I like the quick art it seems to show more emotion.
The rock element needs to raw and the style Mick Jagger has singing and dancing on stage can be hard to capture with many mediums of art. I chose acrylic because I wanted to try the new canvas boards I bought, but also because it is more forgiving and workable than watercolor. I really like colored pencils, but felt they would not be as expressive as the acrylics.
I made the back faded and tried to get the look of a stage at an outside concert. This is a second Jagger painting that I have done in black and white. I will also be doing some variations of the to Jagger paintings adding color with a photo editing program.
Thanks for checking out my artwork and I will have the new versions up for viewing ASAP.
