Painting - Oil On Canvas
This is a signed original work painted in oil on canvas.
After Miriam objected to the marriage of Moses to a Cushite woman, she was punished by God who struck her with tzaraat, turning her white as snow. Tzaraat was an illness traditionally translated as leprosy, even though it may have been skin cancer or vitiligo. According to the rules concerning tzaraat, Miriam had to live outside of the camp and was only allowed back after Aaron asked Moses to intercede with God on her behalf. After Moses uttered a five-word prayer, O Lord, make her well, she recovered within seven days. (Numbers 12:10-14).
