MONET'S POND WITH WATERLILIES AND BRIDGE is an edited, enhanced digital photograph of a beautiful waterscape taken by Carla Parris in Giverny, France at the home of painter Claude Monet.
After spending over twenty years creating his beautiful gardens, Claude Monet, who was a master gardener as well as a famous Impressionist painter, spent the last 30 years of his life painting the pond and gardens at his home in Giverny, France, outside of Paris.
Perhaps the most popular and well known of these paintings are those which feature the iconic turquoise bridge seen here at the far end of the water lily pond in his Japanese gardens.
The pond is a serene and peaceful place, with beautiful views at every point of the walk which encircles the pond and passes over the famous bridge. The pond is filled with pink, cream, and white water lilies, and is overhung with graceful, flowing weeping willow trees.
Monet's paintings of his beautiful pond can be seen in a number of galleries. The most impressive display I have seen is in the l'Orangerie museum in Paris, which has two rooms, bathed in natural sunlight, with massive panels around each room. The museum was designed by the artist. It is a quiet, contemplative place, with a long bench in each gallery where one can sit and leisurely, and comfortably, enjoy the mesmerizing paintings.
