...A textured watercolor presentation
of the trail leading down to Cherokee Lake
fed by Persimmon Creek
in the Nantahala National Forest of North Carolina,
close to the state line of Tennessee.
This image was captured on a misty rain day
when the autumn color was at it's peak.
This lake has trails and a boat dock along with
a large picnic area and is very scenic
in the autumn when the trees are full of color.
The lake is known for good fishing.
If you follow this trail down along the lakeside,
it leads to a scenic little dam.................
Cherokee Lake is located in the Hiwassee Dam community
of Murphy, NC right off of Hwy 294.
To get there, you will take Highway 64 West of Murphy, NC,
make a right on 294.
Follow that a couple miles to the entrance to Cherokee Lake
on your right hand side. Its just before the brand new bridge.
