A cold morning at Mammoth Hot Springs creates ethereal mist when combined with the runoff from the hot springs. The acidity of the springs is unforgiving to nearby trees eventually reducing them to mere skeletons. Yellowstone has many areas in which trees succumb to the hot spring and geyser runoffs laden with silica and other destructive elements. Many a photographer has rued the day the wind changed claiming the front elements of their lens.

Brilliant !! I love the overall feeling of this scene. Reminds me of getting up early in the morning, hoping the temperature inversions would be just right to get the conditions to capture a scene like this....needs patience and the desire to get up early lol...your folio of works is sheer perfection reflecting patience, courage and certainly photographic ability in every sense of the word !!
