Moss-covered trees. Moss (green) growing on the trunks and branches of trees in a temperate rainforest. Mosses are found in wet habitats as they have no true roots and depend on their leaves to absorb water and minerals. Temperate rainforests exist in areas where there is high rainfall, and the temperature rarely drops below freezing, or rises above 27 degrees Celsius. Photographed in Naikoon Provincial Park, Queen Charlotte Islands, British Columbia, Canada.
