Ya know, you two wonderful lovers and nurturers of the earth and all it's inhabitants (including people), and who share --give-- so much of your selves adding to creation of beauty, of truth, as Keats said -- I appreciate as birds ending a day -- and preceding the dawn -- how you two, Ken and Patty, and so many, many other people also keep struggling to create beauty (happy or sorrowful, and most of all, both!). And we all must do whatever we can to protect, nurture, and restore our vanishing flora, fauna, earth, rocks, and water and clean air to show the wonder of skies and stars. And we also must not forget the preservation of the art by humans over centuries. Venice, for instance, already had been struggling against destructive flooding long before the additional rising waters from Climate Change greatly multiplied the now likely irreplaceable devastation. Please, everyone, help in everyway you can to convince all other people -- especially those in power -- that we have no time to lose in preventing and reversing Climate Change. Please talk about it with everyone you can. When the weather is crazy, the seasons out of joint as they are more and more often and in so many locations in the world, then I mention to strangers: "And they tell us there's no Climate Change!" Please sign petitions between sessions of painting. If you don't know where to find them, ask me or Patty. All of us must make our voices heard -- for our children and theirs and theirs and . . . and for all the other creatures still living here, sharing their planet, giving it over to our freeways, and autos, and logging and dams and mines, and polluting factories, etc. We don't much know how far they know our language; what would we hear if we knew theirs? Thank you all so very much for your comments. I really appreciate all of them. Yuri found a picture in a National Wildlife magazine out of the 1970's of a mountain lion looking over a drift of snow. I jest loved the intensity in it's eyes and had jest purchesed a set of charcoals This was my first attmemped at using charcoals. I was hooked and done a series of nature drawing in the 1980's. Most have been sold. I have a little more left from at series to still put on FAA. I wish I could show you all of them. I would draw one every day after work. A lot of best have sold before getting pictures of them. In the 1980 it was a lot harder to sell prints. A lot harder to sell originals to. With out the internet it was really hard for an artist to get known. Most would give up or feel it was so hopeless they would not even try. I could go on for ever about how hard it was. The internet it one of the best tools an artist ever had. At this date 1/18/2010 I have been here less then a year and have over 220 artist from around the world that have me on there Watch List. Over 1700 comment from other artist. Have sold artwork in places I would have not even dream of selling in before being on Fine Art America. This is the power of the internet, this is the power of Fine Art America if you choose to use it right. There is a lot to learn but there is so much to gain. Thank you for reading this and I hope it will help you and insire you in your field of artwork to always keep trying and to do your best. I'm not a very good speller so I hope you can read this.
