You would think, with all the people stopping by, SOMEBODY would have left a comment by now. Okay.. I'll be first.. LOVE IT!! Really nice work.

Thanks Barbara. I entered this drawing in the Pennsylvania State Taxidermy and Wildlife Art Competition and it took Best of Show, Wildlife Art. I just started doing drawings 6 months ago and this was my 8th drawing ever and my first foray into the public eye. Needless to say, I was thrilled.

Great drawing! I can not believe this is your 8th drawing with 6 months experience. You are very talented. May I ask how long it took to draw this one?

I am a huge wildlife fan when it comes to art, anything with animals is the first thing to catch my eye. This picture is beautifully done. I love the intensity in the eyes, the detail of the fur, and the contrast with the dark and rocky background.

Thank you for your kind comment. Especially since I can NOT draw nearly in your league. Every time I draw a cat it looks like some other creature. You definitely have the touch.

Thank you for your latest comments on my albatross. I really appreciate it, and I'm glad you like it. We don't have any wild cats in Australia, so I can appreciate the so called "cat in the wild "... I love this one of your Puma... Brilliant.

Sorry, I just noticed I put Puma instead of Cougar. All cats are beautiful to me. ( I have 5 domestic cats.)

Larry.. it's both and more.. the cat is known as: mountain lion, cougar, puma, catamount and panther.. just so you know you weren't wrong..

I'm a leo, so anything depicting lions attracts me. I can sense the power in those paws, the relaxing form, the plush coat. You create exquisite work.

Your work is absolutely beautiful! I had taken art workshops in the beautiful Beartooth mountians in Montana and was so inspired to paint wildlife. While there a mountian lion was near the camp and we couldn't go out alone. When I came the my painting was of a mountian lion. You have captured thier majestic beauty.

Description:

This beautiful cougar was found by firefighters when responding to a false alarm at a warehouse in Detroit. He was only about 18 months old and being kept in a small cage. The North Carolina Zoo took him in along with another abandoned young cougar, and they are leading much longer, safer and happier lives than their previous owners intended. This drawing won Best of Show, Wildlife Art at the 2007 PA Taxidermist Association's State Convention. Photo ref courtesy North Carolina Zoo.
