My Statue of Liberty
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. Luke 4:18,19
I had desired to draw a picture of Jesus on the cross, and I began meditating on how I could do it in a unique way. Then I heard, Do it from My perspective. This picture represents the moment that Jesus died on the cross and how it looked from Gods perspective in Heaven. His purpose for Jesus on the cross was to make all men free. The title came from a song that Ive heard sung at church, which describes Jesus sacrifice on the cross as our statue of liberty. The scripture above states to set at liberty them that are bruised, and this represents his completed work for us to be totally free.
