In the winter of 2011 a Great Horned Owl couple hatched a nest of owlets in a large magnolia tree in the middle of the university campus where I worked. I was able to get quite a few great shots as the fuzzy ones grew up. This is the male. He and Mama took turns watching the nest and hunting for food. The Facility for Animal Care and Treatment is part of the campus, serving as a wildlife rescue, conservation and education center. http://www.csub.edu/fact/
I see beauty everywhere... emerging seeds, blossoming flowers and falling leaves... goofy children, teenage angst, confused new parenthood, balancing family and work, graceful old age. Life is a joyous adventure, filled with paradox and mystery as well as sense and order, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I think of my photography as a visual prayer capturing the magic in a moment be it divine, prosaic or ridiculously funny. I hope you like some of my moments.
