Another moment of tenderness between this mother Siamang and her baby boy. The largest of the Gibbon family, Siamang are native to the forests of Thailand, Malaysia and Sumatra, though due to deforestation, poaching and hunting mainly for the illegal pet trade, sadly their numbers in the wild are in steep decline and they too are species listed as Endangered.
This happy Siamang family enjoy their own private island at Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Chonburi Province, Thailand.
