Description:

In my titles, I'm attracted to verbal information that can be taken in more than one way. This title seemed to summarize the obvious as well as the mysterious: the approaching darkness; the car headlights. The viewer is left wondering just who this person is calling, and what the call about. The glare of the headlights add a slightly sinister nature. They turn the viewer into participant. (Are you menacing the caller?) Lots of scenarios can be imagined and I like that. This phone booth is real and is situated a few miles south of Greenbank, Washington. It's the same booth that's in my painting "Mason-Dixon Phone Booth". The telephone company has installed an updated model and moved it to the other side of the road, that cuts off to left here. That road is called Classic Road. Telephone booths are classic. Your head spins when you see them now, because of our fast paced technology.
