Description
Down a dim and grungy alleyway to a courtyard on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, men gather to talk, drink shots of tequila or other alcoholic beverages, and smoke. A bartender serves the men. One man watches me photograph this off-street scene. He smokes a cigarette. A typical French Quarter lamp lights one side of the image. A yellow lit canopy sign advertising discount cigarettes and strings of small Christmas lights light the gloomy passageway.

What do you mean, Judie, not one of our usual haunts. :))) I haunt Bourbon St. whenever I get the chance. I was not alone when I shot that one. It does speak, doesn't it!! Remember when we were young kids and drove down there... how dark it was.....truly different today, but you still get this scene if you look for it, and I look for it! :) kk

Thanks, steve. I love gritty pics, too. Look at the guy's cig hand. I think he was sending me an obscene message there. Not sure. :) kk
