Normand's Birch Bark
Photograph - Photographs
All the birch bark art that I create and eventually will be posting on the site are very special to me. The bark was given to me by my late step father and each pieces come from the trees that grew on his land. He knew that the birch tree was one of my favorites. At the time I was making my own paper from scratch and created gift cards with my son in the summer time to keep him busy. I would decorate the cards with natural dried flowers I would collect with my son. I would only use natural elements to make the cards. My step father new that fact..only natural elements and those cards were not for sale but I would give them to the very special people in my life. On The last visita few weeks before he past away he gave me that box full of t birch bark and said" Here, I collected the bark so you can use them when you make those nice greeting cards with it!" Since he diied 8 years ago, I did not use the bark it was too special for me to give that away! I guess the great thing about making photographic pieced and digital artwork and sale them on FAA enables me to create these cards with the birch bark as he wished me to do and I can keep my original work, so that is great! R.I.P Normand!
