Description:

Honorable Mention in FLORIDA WILDLIFE Magazine's 2008 Annual Art Contest. Painted on location on the north shore of Anna Maria Island, FL this gull and home depict the Florida of years gone-by. Many varieties of shore birds cruise the area but the most comical are the gulls. I photographed this one (after repeated tosses of popcorn) on Bean Point as it was coming in for a landing. The original painting contains grains of the white Gulf sand as the wind came up unexpectedly.
