The Mountain Lion (Cougar) is the largest of the big cats found in Canada. In the winter it's tawny rust color thick winter fur coat makes this large feline especially beautiful and captivating.It's long powerful legs gives this wild animal the ability to easily climb trees to avoid threats it uses it's long thick tail for balance. Wild cougars in nature are elusive and will go out of their way to avoid human contact. Long strong legs allow them to navigate the deep winter snow found in Northern Canada. Shelley photographed this Mountain Lion during her Wildlife Photography Workshop held in between Algonquin Park and Barrie, Ontario Canada.
