Not Really Polychrome
Painting - Oil On Panel
Not really polychrome is a layered small format oil painting on artists scratchboard panel. loose washes and media mixtures were used to create the complex textures in the background. Sharp linear negative elements were added through scratching, and a soft impasto pattern in muted mineral colors was painted on top. The title is a reference to the cave painting feeling of the background textures and color scheme, as well as to the ground mineral pigments used in the foreground painting.
