This was taken yesterday, in Rye, NH across from Odiore Park. A rather strange fog came in the afternoon that made a clear dark line above the horizon then worked it way up along the coast.
It's hard to describe what a lovely site Odiorne State Park was created upon. You'll see magnificent ocean views, woodlands, marshes, and all the wildlife that live in those habitats.
With picnic tables, a boat launch, restrooms, and a paved bicycle path, a day spent at Odiorne Point is always one to remember. A great location to hold a family reunion, corporate outing, or wedding!
Miles of smooth trails invite the visitor with a bicycle or a good pair of walking shoes past tidal pools, through dappled forest, and alongside herons and cranes in the wetlands.
Afterwards, a trip to the Seacoast Science Center in Odiorne State Park, with its marine touch tank and huge whale skeleton suspended from the ceiling, will thrill children and adults alike.
If it's summertime, we always like to catch some great local music while having an oceanfront picnic dinner during the outdoor summer concert series.
There's even a bit of mystery to Odiorne State Park; somehow the dark, empty World War II military bunkers always seem a little forbidding and they echo inside...though they're fun to climb on!
