Description
Years ago I purchased a silver tea caddy while traveling in Morocco. For this painting, I added to that other possessions I had accumulated over the years: a Japanese tea bowl from my friend, Helen Xu; a favorite piece of fabric I bought for a dress never made; a black oriental stand that was a street find, and a black Victorian screen purchased from an antique dealer in Tulsa.
These treasures are the things we accumulate and offer with affection to the people who move in and out of our lives.
I contemplated the things a silk merchant might acquire on his travels and offer to his friends. | EXHIBITIONS:
