Andrea LaHue aka Random Act
Painting - Spray, Acrylic Paint, Transfer, Collage, Photography On Wood
I fell in love with Indiana while I was on my Cross Country Random Act of Flowers Journey. I was hosted in Peru Indiana, which was the wintering town of the circus. It's just outside of Kokomo and the closest big city is Indianapolis, where the Indi 500 takes place. The underground railroad was alive and well as Indiana was the first state to the North of Kentucky that was free. Many families helped usher the black population further North, out of the reach of Southerners. James Dean spent his childhood in Indiana and Cole Porter was from Peru Indiana. That's where the name of the piece comes from. His great-niece showed me around Peru, that's her barn, "Good Enough." A great family story goes along with that land. There are plenty of cows and open fields in the heartland and Crossroads of America and many more details I did not mention are on the painting. Enjoy!
