Old West Victorian Barber Shop Interior - Montana Territory
Interior of an old-west, Victorian men's barber shop in the ghost town of Nevada City, Montana.
Men of that era needed a place to take the 'stink' off after mining, ranching, and conducting business in town. The barber shop served as a pseudo men's club.
While they recieved a trim and shave ... they discussed the latest events in sports, politics, and business. For 25 cents on weekdays and 75 cents on weekends, a man could partake of a hot bath in the back room: soap and towel free! And, if he had a serious toothache, I am sure that the barber might be able to pull it, too--albeit for a small fee, of course!
