Description
I took this photo in 1987 from the Jokhang's rooftop in Lhasa, Tibet. The Potala Palace can be seen in the distance with the mountains. The Jokhang is a Buddhist monastery run by the Gelug School, although it can be considered Pan-sectarian. Probably built in 642, its architecture is a mix of Indian Vihara, Tang Dynasy, and Nepalese. The Jokhang is the most important pilgrimage site in Tibet.
