Description:

I painted this piece many years ago, but thought it might be fun to add to my gallery anyway. I've always been a fan of science fiction and fantasy, and so when I was strictly an illustrator I decided to paint a fantasy subject. That's me on the frog--my wife took black and white Polaroid reference shots of me on a stool holding some fake reins and a baseball bat (for the hands on the gun)! There's a book that goes along with this art--I just haven't written it yet...
The painting was accepted into the 1983 Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles juried exhibition, which meant the piece was hanging alongside some illustrators I had revered from afar for quite some time!
