Once I Knew My Name
Painting - Mixed Media
The days have come and gone and their numbers are lost. Our company has dwindled to four and no one can recall the original composition. I am very unsure of when the capybara joined us and he says very little. We continue our journey in this desolate and foreign landscape searching for something that was lost, or we thought there was something. The nights fall without warning and from where we cannot tell. The north star no longer speaks. With no compass or maps, we have no bearings. There is no sustenance here. Did we ever have provisions? Yet we persevere as if there is no alternative. It is so unfamiliar and strange in this place, at least there is my guitar, but still its sound echoes distant and removed. I am lost and searching. Once I knew my name. And the words fade each day with the light.
