Photograph - Photograph
Orexin-B hormone molecule. Computer model showing the crystal structure of a molecule of the hormone orexin-B. The crystal structure consists of both the secondary structure, represented by alpha helices (ribbons), and primary structure (rods). Orexin-B is one of a pair of excitatory neuropeptide hormones that regulate the sleep cycle by inducing wakefulness. The other is Orexin-A. Orexins, also known as hypocretins, also play a role in stimulating appetite.
