Description:
Otoño depicts the Chávez family farm in the valley of Puerto de Luna in New Mexico . Santigo’s brother Ron was born there. The valley is described in Ron’s poem “ Land of My Soul ” which appears in his book “Time of Triumph” which can be bought on Amazon.com.
Otoño has received wide acclaim. It was featured in New Mexico Magazine and in a documentary by KOB Channel 4 in Albuquerque . The ambassador from Spain showcased Otoño at a reception in Washington DC . Today this renowned original painting is on permanent rotating exhibit at the Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque . It was bequeathed to the center by an art collector through his estate. Governors King and Richardson have given tribute to Santiago ’s art for the past 30 years.
