Owyhee River Canyon
Painting - Oil On Canvas
This oil painting by Pat Cross juried into New Yorks Annual International Competition, "Realism".
With sculpted walls towering up to 1,000 feet, the Owyhee River Canyon is one of Oregon's most remote and visually striking. Giving the canyon an other-worldly character are the myriad of basalt formations, hoodoos, and mirroring pools between bends of boiling rapids.
A favorite among the most adventurous of whitewater rafters, 280-mile-long tributary of the Snake River flows northward from its Nevada headwaters through Idaho, cuts through the arid uplands of southeastern Oregon.
