Ox-driven Wagon Freight Train C. 1887
A family run oxen-driven freight hauling wagon train in the Black Hills of South Dakota around 1887. All three family members carry a sapling whip with a long piece of heavy leather attached to the end of it. The wagons appear full to the gunnels with one showing firewood piled high to the canvas.
