Painting - Encaustic
This painting was inspired by the beautiful color change in the trees during autumn.
It is made with naturally bleached beeswax mixed with different pigments and fixed into the surface with a hot gun.
My husband, kids and myself are all certified beekeepers and I bleach all the wax that I use for my encaustic paintings, by extracting the honeycomb directly from our hives and bleaching it naturally, with the power of the sun.
After the beeswax is bleached, I start the complete process of making the colored Encaustic bricks.
