Nafplio is a city on the Argolic Gulf in the northeastern portion of the Peloponnese in Greece. It is on a peninsula that juts out into the gulf and is surrounded by beautiful blue water. Acronauplia (or Acronafplia) is the old part of town that is mainly on the peninsula. There are very old fortifications out on Acronafplia.
The Palamidi Fortress overlooks the town of Nafplio. At night the fortress is all lit up. You can see the stairs leading up to the fortress from the town.
