Painting - Oil On Canvas Board
Painted in 1935 — a lush forest of palms in Palm Canyon near Palm Springs, California. The city of Palm Springs was named for the prehistoric palms and springs of this canyon. This is what Palm Canyon looked like before the big fire that destroyed or damaged so much of it not long after this painting was made. These palms are some of the few that are native to California. The canyon is on a Native American Indian reservation.
