Description:
This work originated from four pattern/texutral sketches/studies taken from design in nature - of palm trees/trunks while on location at Bramston Beach, Far North Queensland, Australia.
The designs was then further explored using collage and image enlargement techniques to combine this into one composition. It took approximately 12 months to complete as was started in an early pregnancy and finished after the birth of my third child. 'Palm Contractions' seemed a fitting title.
Artistic features are the textures/patterns created with collaged canvas pieces and thickly applied and textured acrylic gel with multiple paint overlays.
