Description
Painted in gratitude for the life and teachings of Nayaswami Kriyananda and Paramhansa Yogananda. Kriyananda has shown us that "There is so much more!" to life than the mere physical plane. He wants us to know that Joy is within us! He holds the door open for us to travel far and shoot for the star(s), encouraging us to reach our highest potential in God and in Truth. The example of his life reminds us how to live a happy life and encourages us to share these gifts with others and not only keep them for our selves. His newest book about Paramhansa Yogananda, again shares with us, these very truths, and so perfectly so with the vibrations of truth and wisdom.
I painted this during a time when I was struggling with my meditations. I painted it to remind me of the light that exists in me, at the very center of who I am, and the light that also exists in you! If I cannot see the light in me, it is also more difficult to see the light around me. The tree is the symbol of the Ashvatta tree, an upside down tree, its branches reaching towards things of this world and the roots, where it gets its real nutrition are reaching out into the cosmic sea. This symbol is a reminder that what we are looking for is not outside of us in things of the world. What we are all seeking is Bliss, and it is right within us. The light of the tree trunk represents a strong current like a river that flows deep within me and you washing away all impurities as we rise in joy and freedom to our own self-realization and all along the way we have the support of God, for me this is my Guru, Paramhansa Yogananda. God awaits our coming home at the center of the white silvery star. We can find Him waiting in the silence and deep stillness of meditation.
This Painting was inspired by a song written by Swami Kriyananda:
Mist
Sing of mist on the mountain peaks,
Mist that roams through the valleys deep.
Sing of distance and forest air;
Sing of the sea at evening.
