Description:
I began a new series of French scenes, this is a man wearing his beret walking along the Isle of Saint Louis next to the Seine River. I loved how the trees form a maze of values above the man. The trees gradually get lighter, the sidewalk is dark in value and grounds the painting. The lightposts are very characteristic of this area and add to the vintage feel of the painting. The man is gazing towards the river and waning light. This series is to capture the old feel of Paris and how the former impressionists interpreted the colors, strokes and atmosphere. SOLD
